Description
Ladies, are you experiencing irregular cycles, PMS (including mood changes such as depression, anxiety, or irritability), hormonal acne, chronic stress, hirsutism (facial hair growth), infertility, or post-menopausal symptoms?
Men, are you struggling with low drive, decreased energy, low libido, erectile dysfunction, increased chest fat, or mood changes such as depression?
These symptoms often point to hormonal imbalance and disrupted endocrine signaling.
If you said yes to any or many of these symptoms, the Wild Yam Sacral Balm was formulated to support healthy hormonal balance and here’s how.
For Ladies – Understanding a Healthy Cycle vs. a PCOS Cycle
What a Healthy Cycle Looks Like
A normal menstrual cycle is typically around 28 days and has two balanced phases:
- First Half (Estrogen phase) – The body prepares an egg for ovulation.
- Second half (Progesterone phase) – After ovulation, progesterone supports the uterine lining and completes the cycle.
This balance depends on proper communication within the endocrine system — specifically between the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and ovaries.
Here’s how it should work:
- The pituitary releases FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) to help an egg mature.
- It then releases LH (luteinizing hormone) to trigger ovulation.
- After ovulation, the ovary produces progesterone.
- Healthy levels of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) bind excess androgens (like testosterone), keeping hormones balanced.
- The cycle resets and repeats.
Ovulation is key. Without ovulation, progesterone is not produced — and balance is lost.
What Happens in PCOS
In PCOS, this communication system breaks down.
Common patterns include:
- Elevated androgens (testosterone, DHEA)
- Insulin resistance
- High LH
- Low FSH
- Low SHBG
- Estrogen dominance
- Irregular or absent ovulation
Here’s the cycle disruption in simple terms:
- Excess androgens contribute to insulin resistance.
- Insulin resistance causes the body to produce more insulin.
- High insulin stimulates the ovaries to produce even more androgens.
- Elevated androgens suppress FSH, preventing proper egg maturation.
- Without proper maturation, ovulation does not occur.
- Without ovulation, progesterone is not produced.
- The pituitary releases more LH in an attempt to trigger ovulation.
- Excess LH further increases androgen production.
- Low SHBG means androgens remain unbound and active.
- The cycle repeats.
Over time, this hormonal disruption can contribute to infertility, persistent irregular cycles, metabolic dysfunction, and increased long-term health risks like diabetes and even cancer in the ovaries and endometrium.
What Needs to Be Corrected
The goal is to restore proper endocrine signaling.
That means:
- Improving insulin sensitivity so cells properly receive glucose
- Lowering excess insulin
- Reducing androgen levels
- Supporting healthy SHBG production
- Restoring proper FSH and LH balance
- Achieving consistent ovulation
- Rebuilding natural progesterone production
When ovulation returns, hormonal balance can be restored.
Note: there are a few other type of PCOS such as post-pill PCOS (post pill surge in androgens), inflammatory PCOS (excess androgens due to poor immune system function caused by gut & food sensitivities), and adrenal PCOS (excess androgens are coming from the adrenal glands rather than the ovaries due to chronic stress). However, helping the body to eliminate excess androgens, learning stress management, making dietary & lifestyle corrections, and ultimately getting the endocrine system back to communicating and signaling properly are still the goal in all of these cases.
IMPORTANT: Diet and lifestyle changes are one of the most powerful tools we have for managing PCOS naturally, and they really do form the foundation of any treatment plan. What you eat, how you move, what you put on your skin (including clothing & skincare) are what will make the biggest difference in the long term. Alongside nutrition and lifestyle, Wild Yam Sacral Balm helps restore hormonal balance and properly direct endocrine communication. A free
How the Wild Yam Sacral Balm Can Help
At Golden Render Tallow & Market, we believe that herbal plant medicine is one of the most powerful pathways to restoring balance in the body. The Wild Yam Sacral Balm has been carefully formulated with targeted botanicals traditionally used to support insulin sensitivity, reduce hyperandrogenism, balance the LH:FSH ratio, correct endocrine system mis-signaling, and ultimately encourage ovulation, progesterone production, and healthy estrogen-progesterone balance.
The Botanical Formula
Wild Yam
Contains diosgenin, which is traditionally used to support insulin sensitivity and help reduce excess androgen production, as well as influence the biochemical lipid pathways that contribute to the production cholesterol, the starting point for all steroid hormones, including progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, and adrenal hormones, which play key roles in your body’s overall hormone balance.
Black Cohosh
Traditionally used to reduce elevated lutenizing hormone (LH), support ovulation and progesterone production, ease PMS symptoms such as cramps and mood changes, and relieve menopausal symptoms including hot flashes, anxiety, and insomnia
Maca
An adapotgenic root that supports the body’s stress response and endocrine function. Traditionally used to promote menstrual regularity, support ovulation, improve LH and FSH balance, reduce estrogen dominance, and help lower androgen levels by supporting healthy hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis signaling.
Chasteberry (Vitex)
Promotes ovulation and progesterone production and is widely regarded for reducing PMS symptoms including breast tenderness, irritability, anxiety, depression, and cramps.
Burdock Root
Supports insulin sensitivity, reduces inflammation, and promotes healthy liver and kidney function, helping the body maintain hormonal balance.
Evening Primrose Oil
Rich in essential fatty acids (Linoleic Acid (LA) and Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), traditionally used to reduce inflammation, support cervical mucus production, ease PMS symptoms, and promote hormonal balance.
Pomegranate Seed Oil
A key reproductive herb in traditional medicine that supports hormone balance, reduces inflammation, supports metabolic health, and helps address estrogen dominance.
For Men – How Can the Wild Yam Sacral Balm Help?
Men have endocrine systems too – and hormonal balance matters just as much. The Wild Yam SacralBalm supports healthy endocrine communication in men, helping the body respond more efficiently to stress, inflammation, and hormonal shifts. By supporting adrenal and reproductive signaling, it helps to increase testosterone production when needed and promote overall hormonal equilibrium and vitality.
How to Use:
Mark the first day of your period as “Day 1.”
Do not apply the cream from Day 1 through Day 7.
Begin using the cream on Day 8 — two pumps, morning and evening. Rotate application spots: neck, chest, breasts, inner upper arms, belly, and inner thighs.
Continue using it twice daily until your period begins again, then pause and restart the cycle the same way.
Always follow three weeks of use with a one-week break, which should line up with your period.
Irregular Cycles or Perimenopause
If your cycle is irregular or you’re not sure when to begin, count the day you start using the cream as “Day 8” and apply it morning and night.
Continue daily use through Day 28, or until your period begins — whichever comes first.
When your period starts (or on Day 28), pause for 7 days. After that, resume applying the cream starting from Day 8 again and follow the same routine.
If your period comes earlier than Day 28, stop using the cream, consider that your Day 1, wait 7 days, and restart on Day 8.
If your period doesn’t arrive by Day 28, stop anyway, take a 7-day break, then begin again on Day 8.
Menopause or Post-Menopause
Create your own monthly rhythm by choosing a day to begin — you can track it with a calendar, a cycle tracking app, or journal.
Start your cycle by applying the cream on what you’ll call “Day 8” and continue using it morning and night through Day 28.
Then take a 7-day break before beginning the next cycle again on Day 8.
In general, use the cream for three weeks, followed by one week off, and repeat monthly. Apply one pump of cream to the inside of your wrists at any time to assist the body if experiencing symptoms such as hot flushes, headaches, sleeplessness, or night
sweats.
Teens
If the cycle is regular, follow the general usage instructions. If periods are still irregular, use the cream following the irregular cycle guidance.
Men
Use morning and night consistently, without taking breaks or cycling off. Rotate application areas—neck, chest, inner upper arms, belly, and inner thighs—for best absorption.
You can also apply one pump to your inner wrists anytime for extra support if you’re experiencing things like hot flashes, night sweats, sleeplessness, or headaches.
